October 2, 2003: Red Diamond was the kick-off spot for the annual "Chili-Run" by the Mahoning/Columbiana Chapter of the Blue Knights. The run benefited Special Olympics. Despite the early rain and cool temperatures, we had a nice turn out. 

March 1, 2004: SureFire is presently not permitting their dealers to advertise their products on internet sites. We have therefore inactivated all SureFire products to comply with this policy. We will activate them again as soon as we are permitted.

May 15, 2004: Red Diamond has gone postal! We've been waiting since 1999 to obtain a Postal Uniform License and we've finally been approved. Our goal is to apply the same concept to postal uniforms as we do to our police, fire and EMS lines of offering a large selection at very competitive prices. Check us out for all your postal uniform needs.

 August 4, 2004: We've added a new line of gloves from JAC. Great pricing and great gloves. The original JAC glove is back at Red Diamond.

August 11, 2004: Red Diamond is now an authorized Safariland Law Enforcement Distributor for all duty gear products. Red Diamond is proud to have met their stringent qualifications. As a result, we have committed to increase the depth of their products that we stock. See our expanded Safariland section under duty gear and holsters. We welcome the chance to quote non-individual departmental and governmental orders. 

Sept.1 2004: Red Diamond is now carrying the full line of 5.11 Tactical™ Class A and Class B Uniforms as well as the 5.11 Tactical uniform jacket line.

Coming in January 2005, watch for more exciting products from 5.11 Tactical which will be sold only by authorized full-line dealers including Red Diamond.  We were recently provided a sneak preview and we think you will like what you see. Sept.1 2004: Red Diamond will soon be upgrading our site to a new cart. The new cart will be quicker, and provide greater product detail than we were able to list before. Menu's have been upgraded and a new "Search by Brand" link will be added. Red Diamond has been on the internet since 1999 and we constantly try to make your shopping experience as painless as possible.

November 5, 2004: The long awaited new ASP handcuffs are in stock. The supply is expected to be limited until February 2005.

November 6, 2004: We have added the new 5.11 Tactical boots for advance orders. All three styles are expected to ship mid-December to mid-January. We expect heavy demand and if you are interested in getting a pair in the first wave we suggest putting in an advance order to be shipped and billed as soon as we receive stock. We will update availability as we get it.

November 24, 2004: The new 5.11 Tactical Nylon Ripstop shirts are in stock in all colors.  5.11 Tactical Nylon Ripstop pants are in stock in desert sand only at this time. We also now have the new 5.11 Tactical Patrol and Range bags in stock.

November 29, 2004: The new  Hatch PPG1 ARMORTIP™ Puncture Protective Gloves are due in this week. These gloves are an advanced version of the popular SGX11 gloves with a puncture-resistant system that protects the leading edges of the finger tips and sides of the index and pinky fingers.

November 30, 2004: The new 5.11 Tactical 48009 concealment Trench Coat are in stock. We also now have the new 5.11 Tactical Break-a-Way ties in stock, see item 59065-999. 

January 5th, 2005: Phase 1 of our expansion project is completed with the opening of our new public safety and postal footwear showroom. We now have over 850 shoes and boots in stock.

February 14, 2005: Red Diamond teams up with Sabre® line of OC spray.

Red Diamond is now a Law Enforcement Distributor for Sabre OC Spray from Security Equipment Corp. Sabre brands include the widely used Sabre Red® and Sabre H2O® lines of OC spray. Sabre offers several distinct advantages. 1. Sabre canisters will discharge from an inverted position. 2. Quality control assures each can is the same in contents. 3. UV Dye marks suspects who have been sprayed. 4. Sabre uses the natural color of  OC so officers can visualize their aim, get on target quicker and use less spray. 5. HPLC Guarantee. February 20, 2005: Red Diamond teams up with Gerber Legendary Blades as an authorized distributor. Gerber tools and knives are well known throughout the world. Check out their new flashlight line!

February 28, 2005: Our new 5.11 Tactical showroom is open although some construction remains to be finished.

March 30, 2005: Safariland® has released their new Super Duty™ line of duty gear. We have seen some sites selling this line already but not identifying it as the less expensive Super Duty™ line. For clarification, there is the popular original Safariland Laminate™ line, the new Super Duty™ line, and Fine-Tac™ products. Super Duty™ products are soft molded rubber-like leather products that they briefly switched to a year or so ago. All Super Duty™ model numbers end in "M". So an original double magazine holder would be a model 77, a Super Duty™ magazine holder would be a model 77M. Fine-Tac™ products are the hardened tactical finish. Super Duty™ products are a less expensive alternative to the original Safariland line, which many may like,  but buyers should be careful of less than honest sites/dealers out there improperly advertising this line implying it to be the original models. We will be adding Super Duty™ items to the site shortly and they will be properly identified by the trademark name.

May 5th to May 7th, 2005:

Red Diamonds Grand Re-Opening/6-year Anniversary Open House had a great turnout. Over 580 people stopped by. Thanks to the generosity of many vendors we held raffles for over $8000.00 in prizes. Many product demos were run each day and more than 40 companies had representatives on hand showing off new products and answering questions.

The practice door ram/Airsoft training display was a popular place. One and two officer teams competed for "top gun" honors. Red Diamond will be distributing a line of Airsoft weapons designed for law enforcement training. Watch here for details.

May 5th, 2005:

Red Diamond teams up with our newest footwear partner, Rocky Shoes & Boots. Headquartered in Ohio since 1932, Rocky offers several dozen models of public safety and work boots. With these added styles we can say with confidence that we have the largest selection and inventory of black boots in Ohio (and probably 20 or 30 other states!). Red Diamond will offer the entire Rocky Boot line. We have also added the Rocky Outdoor Gear line of work apparel and the new Rocky Glove line.

May 10th, 2005:

Red Diamond is now an authorized distributor for Ka-Bar Knives, including the new TDI Law Enforcement knife. Check their new products out in the Knife category!

May 18th, 2005:

Red Diamond has signed on to be a dealer for Blackwater Gear™, including the new made in the USA Armor Skins™ Gloves which will be in stock shortly. Developed by jointly by Crye Associates, who specialize in the design and development of personal military equipment; Blackwater USA™, the most respected name in tactical training today renowned for their real-world training for the U.S. Departments of State, Defense and Transportation as well as private corporations; and with detailing, manufacturing and distribution by Michaels of Oregon, known for their Uncle Mike's line of military and law enforcement gear. The combined efforts will be known as Blackwater Gear™ with many new products coming in the coming months. All Blackwater Gear tactical products are made in the USA. Watch for new military and tactical products to be added in the coming month.

June 24th, 2005: Red Diamond adds American Body Armor (ABA) and Protech tactical lines of ballistic concealment vests, shields, helmets and tactical vests. ABA makes the popular Xtreme and Xtreme-X concealment vests. These add to our present line of Second Chance, Reliance Body Armor and RBR Tactical.
