TUS002 Turtleskin® Search Glove

Turtleskin gloves have the highest protection today against needle sticks, period. Other gloves off "puncture" resistance, not needle resistance. TurtleSkin gloves offer the highest performance against punctures, cuts and abrasion while remaining lightweight and comfortable. Its patented fabric is constructed of the tightest weave ever achieved in Kevlar® fiber from Dupont, giving it protective properties that far exceed typical Aramid gloves. It is the only flexible material that helps protect hands from needle-sticks, metal shards and glass fragments, while remaining only as thick as three sheets of paper. TurtleSkin gloves can be machine washed, unlike many other gloves which must be discarded when they become dirty or come into contact with infectious waste or bodily fluids. While no glove is puncture proof, Turtleskin's patented fabric has the tightest weave ever achieved in Kevlar® offering the best protection yet against needles. TurtleSkin offers the highest puncture resistance ever achieved in a lightweight, flexible fabric. These gloves can resist the puncture of a .05 inch needle under several pounds of pressure.

Note: These are "body armor" for your hands for needle stick protection. Much like body armor, these gloves require a 16 to 20 hour "break in" to be best used. This is best performed off duty in a low stress environment. They are very stiff when new due to the extensive protection offered. Like your body armor vest or a good leather jacket, they do soften and become more flexible with use. A simple example of how they will feel is if you slip a credit card in your front pocket with the numbers facing out, during a pat search you try to feel the numbers on the credit card. You can't tell what the numbers are, but we have yet to encounter an officer that can not feel the numbers through the pants. If you have questions, please feel free to email us.
