History
Red Diamond has been servicing the public safety community since 1999. Mr. Red Diamond spent almost 30 years in law enforcement.
Since opening, we have expanded twice and moved into our present, and again greatly expanded 7,600 sq foot location in the 'burbs of Youngstown, Ohio.
We keep our prices low by buying in volume, drop shipping direct from vendors who are closer than us to a customer to save freight, not making a profit on shipping charges (that's called "handling" appropriately enough) and using an on-line catalog. We do not advertise other than our web site. Our secure order site went on-line in May, 1999 (yes, we were on-line before most folks could spell "internet"). Our new shopping cart site is now operational at www.reddiamondonline.com.
Uniform Division: Our uniform division represents more than 24 uniform companies including Fechheimer, Horace Small, Elbeco, Clifton, Red Kap, Dickies, Southeastern, Liberty, Spiewak and others.
Law Enforcement/Public Safety Sales Division: Our law enforcement equipment division represents more than 250 suppliers representing everything from K-9 compartments and body armor to more than a dozen duty gear and holster companies. We are a GSA registered, cage code registered (CCR) vendor for government and military direct sales.

Price Policy: Red Diamond maintains over 10,000 items and growing on our web site. Every effort is made to assure correct and up-to-date pricing. We normally honor all advertised pricing even if a price has changed. However, in cases of obvious error, typo's or recent unexpected large price increases by our vendors, we do reserve the right not to sell. Prices are subject to change without notice.
Warranties: Items thought to be defective are subject to each vendors individual warranties. No warranty is expressed or implied by Red Diamond. You may wish to contact these companies direct to confirm warranty and return procedures or you can contact us for assistance.
Ordering and Shipping
Ordering: Please note that you should use your primary email address as that is our main means of communicating with you should there be questions or problems with your order. We often see orders sit days as an emailed question from us was unanswered for days. We do not share this information with anyone, and all information you list is private and confidential. See our privacy policy for more information.
Shipping Charges: United States Postal Service charges shown on your order do not include insurance and receipt charges which we add to items of increased value. We do not recommend using mail unless the item is fairly inexpensive, lightweight or you do not have a street address to use (such as APO/FPO addresses). If you are unsure, you can select "Best Way" and we will do the math to determine the most economical shipping method. Since no shipping charge is displayed for Best Way, if you want the order held until you ok the method and cost, simply type "confirm shipping costs" under special instructions during check out. UPS charges are based on estimated shipping weight. In some cases the order may require additional packing which increases the box weight. You will be emailed if the shipping cost exceeds 15% of what is listed on your order. If it is lower, you will be billed at the lower actual cost. We guarantee all shipping to be billed at actual cost without hidden mark-up's or handling charges (see Unique Shipping Program below).

Uh-Oh#1 Have
you ever wondered why an internet site selling public safety products or
uniforms would be ashamed to list their street address or phone number?
Today, increasingly, there are a high number of web sites representing
to be giant public safety "warehouses" when in reality the giant
warehouse is a corner desk in the basement with someone working a day
job. They have no employees, no inventory and simply ship your order
from other distributors or middle men, often with considerable delay and
absolutely no control. Seeing a PO Box listed or no address at all,
should be a warning sign. A phone number that gets an answering machine
during normal business hours or no phone number is another. Lack of a
business name and just a dot.com address is yet another. We recently
were directed to a site that was a Tire dealer selling police equipment
as a side line to his tire store web site. Another site advertising they
specialize in military sales was really an air conditioning company!
Needless to say you won't get any experienced answers there. We
typically have found a $1.00 to $4.00 added to the actual UPS or freight
charge at these places because someone else does their shipping. Then
there are the "handling" charges... Uh-Oh#2 Have you ever placed an order on-line only to have to call 911 for the heart attack you suffered after seeing shipping charges? Have you found a "really low price" on a popular item only to see a $10.00 to $15.00 "handling" charge added on to your bill making the item no deal at all? (This is called "back loading"). How about those joints that advertise in 4" caps "FREE SHIPPING" but somewhere in a font that requires a microscope is fine print that a $10.00 handling fee is added to all orders? What a deal when it only cost $6.00 to ship your item. Have you seen the super low priced Stinger Flashlights that comes without a battery? There are other scams out there. This is why we do not "price match". In 95% of the prices we've checked, despite the other guy having a lower price, we were really less money as shipping is a part of what you pay. Uh-Oh#3: Your credit card is billed even if the item has not shipped. We do not bill your credit card until the day your order ships. In some cases we are out of stock or an item is on backorder. Rest assured we do not pre-bill your credit card in these cases. No handling charges or hidden fees ever at Red Diamond. We've been on the net since 1999. We operate from a "real" store rather than sitting in our "virtual" basement trying to sell public safety items as a sideline to a day job. We do not advertise nor do we have an expensive catalog. Our law enforcement staff staff has more than 90 years of combined experience alone. When we give advice about duty gear, holsters, etc. we've been there and done that. Remember that old saying if a price looks too good to be true...it probably is. Shipping is a part of what you pay for an item. Some companies play games by lowering the price of popular items, but charging shipping and handling fees to make up for the lower price. This practice is called “back loading”. Some companies charge by the total order cost, so you pay $10.99 shipping for a holster that costs $102.99 but weighs only 1 pound and $4.85 to ship! Others advertise in giant letters FREE SHIPPING but in microscopic print you find they charge a $10.00 “handling fee”. Sometimes this doesn’t even show up till you finish your on-line check out. No matter which way you cut it, they make a profit on shipping in addition to their published prices. We do not believe in "handling" our customers in this way.
We use actual UPS negotiated special rates (our primary means of shipping), FedEx or U.S. Postal Service First Class, Parcel Post or Priority Mail charges based on shipping weight, without any freight mark-up, and absolutely NO handling charges ever. Choosing “Best Way” as your shipping choice lets us choose the most economical method of shipping. Many items such as most gloves can be sent by First Class Mail for an average of $1.80. Our charges are easily verified by visiting either UPS at www.ups.com, FedEx at www.FedEx.com, or the U.S. Postal Service at www.usps.com and checking your estimated order shipping weight from Youngstown, Ohio 44515. Please remember that UPS will not deliver to a P.O. Box. If you have a fairly large order, try to list a street address or we can use Parcel Post.
For orders over $150.00, we discount (yes, discount!) your actual shipping 50% up to the first $12.00 of ground shipping without handling charges. Next Day Air, 2nd Day Air, and Third Day Air charges are at actual cost. Ohio residents only get free shipping on all orders but must pay 6% Ohio Sales Tax.
Also, you won’t get a pretty box with our company logo on it, as we use recycled boxes and generic UPS or Postal shipping boxes. But you won’t pay extra to see our pretty box either and we may save a few trees a year.
This all can save you anywhere between $3.00 and $18.00 on an average over popular catalogs and other internet sites per order. Since 1999, we have never had a complaint on our shipping charges and hundreds of compliments.
Before you buy...check the shipping costs! It is because of this big difference that we do not "price match" on the cost of a product.
Catalog Requests
CATALOGS: At this time we have run out of paper catalogs and frankly are debating if we should do another. Paper catalogs add enormously to a companies cost of doing business. We are developing a CD-ROM catalog we hope to have out by January, 2003. If you see something you like in another guys catalog, call us for a quote.
